This collage was put together for the 2000 Yultide Greetings Card. Two summers later, Krystyna and I took Nikki to Smith Point Park beach. She loved to show off how fast she could walk at the edge of the water where the waves just started to dissipate into the sand.
Being hardly able to keep up with her, I urged, "Nikki we have to slow down because grandma cannot keep up with us."
Without breaking a stride and without looking at me she replied: "We are walking away from your wife, and she does not even miss you. That's sad."
What could I say in response? I just laughed and hence I want to record that incident for posterity.
